Aging in Place Week
To acknowledge the importance of "Aging
in Place”, Anderson Mayor Terrance Roberts as well as SC Govenor Mark
Sanford issued proclamations citing October 13-19 as “National Aging in
Place Week.” Hospice of the Upstate and AnMed Health held their quarterly
Care for the Caregiver event which highlighted the topic of aging in ones
own home. According to Pam Cox, Community Education Coordinator with
Hospice of the Upstate, "Most people say that would like to stay in their
own home for as long as possible. We encourage people to have a plan in
place to make this happen. The time to plan is before a crisis occurs."
