Hospice of the Upstate provides comfort and compassion when it is needed most during the final stages of life at The Callie & John Rainey Hospice House or in our Home Care program.   We are designed to help anyone in their last phase of life. Hospice is for every person from all walks of life.  Hospice of the Upstate has as its most basic premise, the desire to enhance the quality of one's life, no matter the duration of that life. Our primary goal is to help people spend their time living as fully and completely as they wish, in their own familiar, comfortable surroundings, and in the company of family and friends.

On June 28, 1998, the Callie and John Rainey House was dedicated.  This home-away-from-home is for patients who, for whatever reason, cannot stay in their own homes. It was the result of a genuine commitment from the Upstate community and a tribute to a couple much loved and respected by their friends and neighbors for their own lifelong tradition of caring and their legacy of love.

The Rainey Hospice House has 31 beds, a dining room, an inviting music room, a brightly furnished children’s room, a chapel, a pharmacy, and a reception area.  It also houses the administrative offices.

Situated on 53 acres near downtown Anderson, it offers restful vistas of natural beauty that bring peace to the spirit and refreshment to the souls of patients and their families.
