Grief Series

This is an educational support group for people whose loss is
less than one year. It meets for five consecutive weeks. Sessions are held
quarterly in the parlor of the Sadler Bereavement and Education Center.
Participants choose either a 10:00 a.m. or a 6:00 p.m. Monday session.
First Year Groups
-
This
group meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
in the parlor of the Sadler Bereavement and Education Center for support
during the first year following a death.
Men’s Group
- This group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 11:00 a.m. and is
led by a male staff member of Hospice of the Upstate then followed by lunch
in Rose Dining Hall.
Pot Luck /Activity Group
- Bring your favorite food and share a meal with others who have experienced
grief. Following will be a speaker or activity to support the grief
process. This group meets on the third Tuesday of each month downstairs in
the conference center of the Sadler Building at 11:00 a.m.
Regional Groups
- A general grief support group meets monthly in Easley, SC. This group
meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 3:00 p.m. at Easley First
Baptist Church, Easley, SC. Regional groups are held periodically in
Greenville, SC and Hartwell, GA.
Specialty Groups
-
At various times specialty groups are held. They are
announced in advance and include topics such as Loss of a Spouse, Loss of a
Child, Loss of a Parent and Women Only.
Service of Remembrance
-
Each quarter we honor our Hospice of the Upstate patients who
have died within a three month period. It is a good occasion to honor loved
ones and for family members to reconnect with staff and volunteers.
